A City with a Story

A small city
with a big story.

1883

The Hay Tree

Hay sellers met beneath it each morning to set prices for Chicago and New York. It still stands at the Civic Center, a short walk from Entrada.

1949

The Zamboni

Invented right here, at the rink now called LA Kings Iceland. The machines are still built in Paramount.

1957

A city is born

Hynes and Clearwater, once the largest hay market in the world, become the City of Paramount.

1989

Gold Key breaks ground

Gold Key Development begins building homes in Paramount, the start of more than 35 years here.

A City on the Rise

in itself.

New shopping, new dining, new gathering places and new homes, all arriving together.

The historic Western Consumers Feed Company building, a short walk from Entrada, is anticipated to become food stalls, gathering space, and a city museum.

Straight Answers

“Isn't Paramount just
a drive-through city?”

That reputation is decades out of date, and the evidence is physical: continual investment in infrastructure, tree-lined neighborhoods, public art, a turnaround commended by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and a current wave of projects from Paramount Square to the Hay Tree Public Market.

The best answer to the question is simply a visit.
